REMOTE GAMES IRS can be played with players in different places connected by an Internet connection. Below is a guide telling you how remote gameplay works. Initialisation: * The machine that will be the server asks the player to enter their name, the IP of the server and to select a dictionary. The server also needs to know how many players will be playing and how many hints each player is allowed. They then start the server and are added to the list of players. The player in charge of the server can remove players, end the server or chat to waiting players. The dialog where all of this takes place will be called the lobby. * The server then waits for other players. If the client does not have the dictionary that has been selected by the server, the server automatically sends it to the client. * When the server controller has the pre-defined number of players in the lobby, the game begins and no new players can join. * To join a game, the client inputs the servers IP address and their name. They will then be able to see which other players are in the lobby and they can talk to each another. |
